Rihanna is smokin’ hot at the 2008 Spirit of Life Award dinner honoring Doug Morris on Wednesday in Santa Monica, Calif.

City of Hope’s Music and Entertainment Industry Group recognized Morris (chairman and CEO of Universal Music Group) for his contributions to his community and profession as well as committing his time and resources to helping those in need.

“I am deeply honored to serve as this year’s Spirit of Life recipient to help recognize the innovative research conducted at City of Hope to find a cure for cancer,” said Morris. “City of Hope has provided the science behind four of the leading cancer drugs used today. I look forward to leading the industry in its support of this visionary institution.”

Last week, the 20-year-old Barbadian beauty was spotted at dinner with her undercover lovebird Chris Brown at Giorgio Baldi in Santa Monica. The twosome were later seen ducking into Hideout, a small bar next door. “They came in with their bodyguard and wathed people getting up to sing karaoke,” says an onlooker. “They were laughing hysterically –not at everyone, but they just thought it was so cute and funny.” The pair left holding hands on the way out!

Yesterday, Rihanna also reportedly started shooting the music video for T.I.’s single “Live Your Life”.

Rihanna is set to be the latest celebrity to dabble in the world of fashion, with the news that she will launch her own clothing range.

In Milan yesterday for the Gucci show, the Disturbia singer told WWD that the collection was already in the works.

‘I’m not one to rush into anything. I want to take my time,’ she said, I can’t say when it will be released, but it’s definitely going to happen.’

As the latest spokesperson for Gucci, Rihanna shot her first campaign for the brand over the summer. When asked why she joined the brand she responded that its charity work had been a deciding factor, ‘I give them so much respect,’ she described. Read the rest of this entry →
