R&B sensation Rihanna will shun skimpy outfits when she performs in Malaysia next month, the concert’s organizers said Tuesday, becoming the latest international star affected by the Muslim-majority country’s strict rules on performers’ dress.

Recent concerts by Gwen Stefani and Avril Lavigne faced protests by conservative Muslim Malaysians over immodest clothes. Stefani eventually made what she called “a major sacrifice” at her show by donning attire that revealed little skin.

Under government guidelines, a female performer must be covered from the top of her chest, including her shoulders, to her knees.

The organizers of a Pussycat Dolls concert in 2006 were fined nearly $3,000 after the U.S. girl group was accused of flouting decency regulations.

The Malaysian organizers of Rihanna’s Feb. 13 stop on her “Good Girl Gone Bad” tour voiced hopes that protests would not mar the Grammy-winning singer’s show.

Rihanna’s management is “aware of the country’s regulations and the difficulties of doing a show,” Razman Razali, managing director of Pineapple Concerts, told The Associated Press.

However, a district branch of the opposition Pan-Malaysian Islamic Party, which blasted Lavigne’s on-stage moves as “too sexy” last year, said in an online commentary that Rihanna was “sexier and more dangerous” than Lavigne.

Concert ticket Web site Axcess said sales for Rihanna’s show in a 16,000-capacity Kuala Lumpur stadium were selling briskly Tuesday, just hours after newspapers announced the event.

Rihanna, 20, has had a slew of hits since bursting onto the music scene in 2005, including “Umbrella,” “Pon de Replay” and “Unfaithful.”

According to Denver Post, the Grammy winning singer has labeled reports of her acting alongside Mos Def in the upcoming film as “rumors.”

“I’ve never been involved in that movie,” Rihanna told The Post. “And I probably won’t be.”

As previously reported by SOHH, Rihanna was reportedly rumored to star in the upcoming film alongside actors Macy Gray and Anthony Anderson. Set in the 1930s, the plot revolves around an African-American family’s migration from the racially tense state of Mississippi to the ghetto-themed underworld of Chicago, Illinois.

Focused on alleged lead actor Brian J White’s character, “Otis Tilson,” the story emphasizes his difficulties in trying to keep his family together as they encounter alcoholism, prostitution, sexual deviation and injustice.

Directed by Darren Grant, the film will also star actresses Kerry Washington and Angela Bassett, according to IMD No release date has been announced on the movie’s production as of yet.

In related news, Rihanna will perform at the National Football League’s Pepsi Smash Super Bowl Bash in Florida next month. Hostedy by actor Jerry O’Connell, the concert will air live on VH1and feature Rihanna, Fall Out Boy and Lifehouse.

The singer is being considered to play the female lead in the remake of the hit ‘The Last Dragon’ with Samuel L Jackson, ‘Ace Showbiz’ reported.

Rapper RZA, who is producing the film, said that though several female artists were being looked at for the role, he tends to choose the 20-year-old to fill in the part in the remake project.

“That’s the one I’m rooting for,” he said of Rihanna’s potential casting.

Rihanna and boyfriend Chris Brown booked two different rooms while staying at the Hotel Icon in Houston on Dec. 7.

“They use one room to put their things in, mostly because Rihanna travels with a lot of stuff,” an insider close to Chris, 19, and Rihanna, 20 tells Life & Style. “She’s a real girlie girl, and she brings along lots of clothes, makeup, accessories.… It’s like her whole closet travels with her.”

Adds the insider, “Of course they don’t sleep separately!”

Rumours that Richie had approached the ‘Disturbia’ singer and Kelly Osbourne for advice were sparked by US reports last week.

However, the Simple Life star insisted that she has no plans to record an album anytime soon.

“That’s not true. Although I think that Rihanna and Kelly Osbourne are very talented, that’s completely false,” she told People.

“I do eventually [want to record an album], but right now I have a lot on my plate. I’ve been working really hard – going on auditions for acting, doing design for my line, and being a mom – so that pretty much takes up my days.”
