- In March Holmenkollen announced that superstar Rihanna was booked into one of their big headliners, and today it became clear that the man who provided the Barbados-singer’s mega-hit “Umbrella,” The-Dream will also come to Oslo to give one of his very rare and exclusive live performances, on Friday June 29 along with Rihanna.
The-Dream is still of course much, much more than just the manufacturer behind the aforementioned “Umbrella”, and has in recent years has been behind a series of hit songs for numerous artists, including Beyonce (“Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It”) Justin Bieber (“Baby”), Mariah Carey, Usher, Brandy, Diddy, Ciara. Since 2007, The-Dream also kept it going as a solo artist. Last year, dropped 34-year-old also free album, 1977, which was hailed by a combined music press and hailed as one of the year’s best albums.
- With The-Dream on Friday we have a really solid R & B / hip-hop program. We’re talking here about a man who has been to characterize popular music in recent years to such a degree with the songs he helped write and produce. So it only remains to see if he or Rihanna will visit each other’s performances, said Kollen’s booking managers, Paul Jacobsen.
Fun fact: The-Dream actually planned several European festivals this summer, but decided finally to just play the same places as Rihanna.
Holmenkollen is organized for the first time in Holmenkollen 29-30. June, where one in three scenes would recreating cheers roar one would otherwise only experience during the World Cup skiing, and create a musical celebration for the whole country. Among other “urban” artists that are currently ready for Ski Summer we also Vinni, Envy, and LidoLido Dreamon.
