JLS to sing with Rihanna in X Factor final· 4 Comments · News · |
The group will perform a duet with the singer of Umbrella on the live show.
Fellow finalists Alexandra Burke and Eoghan Quigg will team up with Westlife and Boyzone respectively.
In last year’s final Leon Jackson performed beside Kylie Minogue. Her appearance was partly credited with his victory – after he started the show a 6-1 outsider.
And odds on JLS winning have since been cut to 7-2.
Oritse Williams and Jonathan Gill, both 21, Aston Merrygold, 20, and Marvin Humes, 23, would be the first group to win the TV show.
JLS, which stands for Jack the Lad Swings, will perform Rihanna’s first No1 hit Umbrella on Saturday.
The live performance with an established star can make or break X factor hopefuls.
Last year the favourite Rhydian Roberts’s performance beside Katherine Jenkins failed to draw enough phone votes.
And Same Difference’s rendition of Any Dream Will Do with Jason Donovan saw them trail in third.
Alexandra was still 8-13 favourite to win last night with Eoghan 4-1.
But JLS’s popularity has been soaring. Earlier this week more than 30 fans were taken to hospital following a crowd scramble during a JLS gig at Fairfield Halls in Croydon, South London.

I cant believe she will sing with JLS, thats not fair. How they can put her and JLS 2gether 2 sing. They not even that good and they cant sing, shes gonna make them win I dont think thats fair. i dont agree with u anonymous coz even though they have rihanna it doesn’t mean they’re gonna win- alexandra is singing with beyonve and beyonce is really gd!!- btw i just found out that JLS will NOT be perfoming with Rihanna!!

I think that is so unfair!! that jls will have rihanna! Alexandra is by far the best singer and should have been paired up with rihanna!rihannas popularity is so huge that jls may now win even though they are no were near as good as alexandra!!!!!
