RYAN TEDDER: ‘RIHANNA IS THE NEXT BRITNEY’

One Republic frontman Ryan Tedder has offered to pen tracks for R+B superstar Rhianna - after labeling the Umbrella star the next Britney Spears. The Apologize singer, who has wrote smash hits for Natasha Bedingfield and Leona Lewis, is sure he can work his musical magic for the Bajan beauty after she declared her admiration for his work in an elevator. He says, “She (Rihanna) actually approached me in an elevator in New York about a month or two ago and she was like, ‘I’m such a fan of your music,’ and I said exactly the same thing, so we were like, ‘Well let’s do something.’” “I’m gonna try and deliver a couple of hits. She’s the new Britney Spears.”

I wouldn’t go that far. Neither have strong voices, but Britney can dance her ass off on a good day!

I’ll say she’s the next britney when it comes to the outfits becasue lately her outfits are becoming more and more out there which i don’t like because I really like Rihanna abd don’t won’t her to be anything like Britney who I can’t stand.

I think he meant as far as having a bunch of hits, hit singles,thats why he said, ”I’m gonna try and deliver a couple of hits” and then said ‘’she’s the new britney spears”, thats what most pop singers have, hot hits.

rihanna is capable of delivering a lot of hits. so she’s most likely going to be the next britney in that category… but not the public meltdown.

No offense to Britney, former Princess of Pop. But, Rihanna shouldn’t be compared to her. Rihanna is on a whole ‘nother level, style-wise. Britney, is still in meltdown mode! In my opinion. And no, it’s not her fault, it’s the people that surrounded her. Rihanna, is fresh. Rihanna’s NOT the new Britney Spears. Rihanna is Rihanna. She’s something new.

i hope rihanna isn’t the next britney; you see, i used to like her as soon as umbrella came out and then until about december 2007 i really liked her but then she cut her hair waaaaayyyyy too short and she started being way too out of it, and if she’s ‘the next britney’ then that’ll be even worse because she’ll become even more rebellious. she’ll lose the “edgy” sound and turn into a nightmare! I wish she just stayed like how she did in umbrella and all that, and i agree with “jessica” because her outfits are soooo weird these days

NEXT BRITNEY?? Sure sounds like an insult to me knowing how Britney Spears is doing today. Rihanna has better songs and more top 10 hits than Britney, a better voice too. If I was Rihanna, I’d fire Ryan!

rihanna is definitely not the next britney. Britney is Britney and no one can replace her. As for rihanna, maybe she could just sing her own way and mark her own star - not trying to be famous by using somebody else’s name.

if rihanna can handle scandals and controversies, then maybe she can try to become another britney spears.
